Over the course of a week, the Somali capital, Mogadishu, witnessed celebrations and dinners for the outgoing Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman. Amid praise at the level of the highest leadership of the state, the strategic role played by Ambassador Al-Othman throughout his period of representation of the UAE in Somalia.
This evening, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, received, in his office at the presidential palace in the capital Mogadishu, the ambassador of the outgoing sisterly United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Othman Al Hammadi, to officially bid him farewell.
The Somali president expressed his thanks to the Emirati ambassador for his efforts in developing bilateral relations between Somalia and the UAE, which are based on joint effort and mutual respect. He praised his efforts in supporting drought response and strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, wishing him continued success in the course of his future assignments.
For his part, Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed Othman thanked the Somali President for the distinguished cooperation he received during his tenure in the country, stressing his pride in working in the capital, Mogadishu, as an ambassador for his country in order to advance the Emirati-Somali relations in a way that achieves common interests.
On Wednesday, Somali Foreign Minister Absher Omar Jameh received, in his office at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu, the UAE ambassador to the Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman, and the minister thanked and appreciated the outgoing Emirati ambassador for his role in promoting and developing relations between the two brotherly countries. For his effective contributions in advancing bilateral relations in various fields.
For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al-Othman praised the distinguished level of cooperation between the UAE and Somalia, expressing his thanks for the support he received from the Somali authorities throughout his tenure. The Prime Minister of the Somali Federal Government, Hamza Abdi Berri, recently hosted a dinner in honor of the farewell of the UAE Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Al-Othman.
The Speaker of the Somali Parliament, Adam Mohamed Nur (Mdobe), also received His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman, the UAE Ambassador to Somalia, on the occasion of the end of his tenure. Madobe praised the ambassador's efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
