The striker of the French national football team, Christopher Nkunku, joined the list of injured players in his team, who are Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante, Mike Mignan and Prisnel Kimpembe. The top scorer in the Bundesliga with Leipzig suffers from a sprain in his left knee joints, according to what the French Federation announced on the eve of the blue team’s travel to Qatar on Wednesday morning.

The Federation did not announce the identity of the replacement, after sending the official list of 26 players to the International Federation (FIFA). Even if his participation was not expected as a starter, Nkunku was able to play the role of a distinguished substitute.

Nkunku, who turned 25 on Monday, was voted Bundesliga player of the year last season. In coach Didier Deschamps' last exercise before traveling to Doha, Nkunku collided with fellow midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

On the other hand, the veteran attacking star, Karim Benzema, the best player in the world, did not undergo a full exercise after returning from injury, as did defender Rafael Varane. France will play its first match on the 22nd of this month against Australia.
