The chatbot "Grok" sparked widespread controversy on social media after issuing responses that "glorified" American billionaire Elon Musk, portraying him as one of the best personalities in the world in various fields.
Many users of the “X” platform, who tried the robot last week, noticed that the latter consistently ranked Musk as “best” in various comparisons, whether related to physical fitness, intelligence, or even religious aspects.
In one of the deleted replies, Grok said that Musk is fitter than basketball legend LeBron James.
According to reports carried by The Guardian, the robot said, “LeBron James undoubtedly excels in physical strength and basketball-related skills, but Elon excels in overall fitness; maintaining 80- to 100-hour workweeks across companies like SpaceX, Tesla, and Neuralink requires tremendous physical and mental toughness that goes beyond the peak of sports seasons.”
Grok also claimed that Musk would beat former boxing champion Mike Tyson if he took on a fight with him.
It wasn't just about physical abilities; the robot said that Musk possesses intelligence that qualifies him to be "among the top 10 minds in history, competing with geniuses like Da Vinci and Newton."
According to the deleted replies, "Grock" thought Musk had a better sense of humor than Jerry Seinfeld.
GROK's replies were deleted on Friday, and Musk commented on the incident, saying that "the bot was unfortunately manipulated through hostile instructions that made it say positive things about me."
Musk has been accused, on numerous occasions, of altering the way "Groc" responds to be more in line with his own vision of the world.
Musk confirmed last July that he would change the way GROOC responds to prevent it from "repeating the mainstream media narrative" that political violence comes more from the right than the left.
This is not the first time that "Grock" has caused a stir; he previously described himself as "Micha Hitler" and made comments described as "anti-Semitic," but "XEi," which developed the robot, issued an apology after the incident, confirming that it would work to fix the defects that had occurred in it.
