The President of the Republic talks about his government's programs in the new year

 The President of the Republic, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, said that the new year 2023 will be a year of service and work for his government, and indicated in a speech he delivered that the new year will be the year of liberation and completion of the constitution.

The President touched on the security situation in the country and the months-long operations against Al-Shabaab, noting that his government aims to take over responsibility for security in Somalia in December 2024 when the African Union mission leaves the country.

While talking about economic issues, the President said that Somalia will complete the debt relief process in the middle of this year. This news is evidence of the President's efforts in the process of developing Somalia, which he has been seeking since he came to power.

The President said that his country will join the trade market of the East African Community this year, and also made it clear that Somalia is interested in becoming part of the US and African markets for tax-exempt products, in accordance with the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act.
