President Hassan Sheikh's desire to convene a conference of Somali scholars to discuss the establishment of the Supreme Council for the Protection of Islamic Sharia. The president's statement comes at a time when he previously said that Al-Shabaab cannot be defeated militarily, but must be fought ideologically.


The terrorist Al-Shabaab movement violated everything that the Islamic religion forbade, and today, the government stands on its shoulders to establish government institutions that protect religion, such as the Fatwa Council, which will save religion from the extremism of Al-Shabaab movement


"The army is an important part of defeating these Kharijite groups, but when we talk about the situation in Somalia, we have decided to increase the ongoing efforts in two directions: an ideological war and an economic one," the president said.


“I tell you that the Somali people who live in the country have risen to liberate it from terrorism, and now it is the end of operations to liberate and eradicate the enemies of Al-Shabaab. These days I describe the situation of Al-Shabab as a fish out of water and it will not survive.” The president said.
