Reports received from the city of “Ail Tir” in the Galgadud province in the center of the country indicated that the army, supported by local forces, carried out an operation in the eastern regions of the region.
General Ali Aray Asbili, who led the operation, explained that the allied forces were able to destroy Al-Shabaab positions in the areas where the operation was carried out, and confiscate weapons that were in the possession of Al-Shabaab militants.
The operation is considered part of the military campaign targeting Al-Shabaab in the Galgadud and Mudug regions, with the aim of clearing the central regions of Somalia of militants.
