Somalia's delegate to the Arab League calls on Arab countries to provide urgent aid
Ambassador Elias Sheikh Omar Abu Bakr, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, launched a humanitarian appeal to all Arab countries and Arab, regional and international organizations to provide relief to the Somali people as a result of the massive floods that struck Somalia.The Somali delegate to the Arab League called on the Arab countries and the United Nations organizations and bodies concerned with relief and humanitarian work to move quickly and intervene urgently to provide relief to the Somali people and enhance the capacity and resilience of the Somali people in the face of climate changes that are striking their lands.
He called for concerted Arab, regional and international efforts to provide relief to the Somali people and to quickly provide urgent humanitarian aid to find effective solutions to confront the catastrophic crisis facing Somalia.
