The Acting Foreign Minister receives the credentials of the IGAD representative in Somalia

 Mr. Ali Omar, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Somali Government, received a copy of the credentials of Mahmoud Abdi Ahmed, the newly appointed Head of the IGAD Mission in the Federal Republic of Somalia, Somalia.

The Acting Foreign Minister conveyed his best wishes to Mr. Mahmoud, stressing the importance of strengthening the valuable relationship and enhancing cooperation between Somalia and IGAD.

Speaking to the national media while presenting his credentials, Ambassador Mahmoud reiterated his commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation and advancing economic and cultural development between IGAD and Somalia.

The appointment of Ambassador Mahmoud Abdi Ahmed as Head of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Mission to Somalia by IGAD Executive Secretary, Dr. Workneh Gebeho, represents a strategic step towards strengthening cooperation in the Horn of Africa region.
