Official: Hamdallah to Lead Al-Hilal's Attack in the Club World Cup

Saudi club Al-Hilal announced on Wednesday evening the signing of Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah on loan.

The Saudi club added in a statement: "Player Abderrazak Hamdallah is participating in Al-Hilal's training today in Orlando."

Previous press reports had revealed that Hamdallah would lead Al-Hilal's attack in its upcoming matches in the Club World Cup.

Okaz Sports newspaper reported that the Saudi club signed a contract with Hamdallah on loan to participate with the club in the Club World Cup in the United States.

The newspaper explained that negotiations between Al-Hilal and Al-Shabab, for which Hamdallah plays, did not take long, beginning in the late hours of Tuesday evening.

Observers and analysts considered the deal a "huge surprise."

This move by the Al-Hilal management came after Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic was injured.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadhiyah revealed on Wednesday that Mitrovic's chances against Fluminense are "almost non-existent" due to injury.

The Saudi club will face Brazilian club Fluminense at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Friday in the quarterfinals.

Al-Hilal achieved a historic victory over English club Manchester City in the round of 16, defeating them 4-3.
