The Prime Minister discusses strengthening bilateral cooperation with the Italian Ambassador

 The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, received the Italian Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Pier Mario Dacco Coppi, at his office. The two discussed ways to strengthen relations and cooperation between Somalia and Italy.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of three major hospital construction projects in the districts of Afmadow in Lower Juba region, Harardhere in Mudug region, and Adalle in Middle Shabelle region. These projects are funded by the Italian government.

The Prime Minister praised the long-standing historical ties between Somalia and Italy, particularly in the areas of diplomacy, development, education, and humanitarian aid. He also briefed the Ambassador on the achievements of the National Interest Government in the areas of security, the economy, and the implementation of the policy related to holding direct elections based on the principle of "one person, one vote."

For his part, Ambassador Pier Mario Dacco Coppi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, affirming the Italian government's commitment to continuing its support for Somalia, especially regarding the development projects being implemented by the government in the country.
