The President of the Republic announces the start of implementing the country's constitution.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud announced that the constitution has been officially implemented, with the separation of powers between the parliament and the federal government imminent. He confirmed that the government's term will end on May 15, 2027.This announcement came during his participation in the 83rd anniversary celebrations of the Somali Youth League (SYL) and National Youth Day. In his address, he discussed the constitution, direct elections, and the security situation in the country.
The President noted that Somalia has made significant progress in the political arena and international relations, and is now part of global decision-making institutions. He stated, "We are now part of the most important decision-making institutions in the world. The world has accepted us; let us maintain our position."
