Deputy Prime Minister chairs meeting to combat extremist ideology in Mogadishu

 Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Ahmed Jama chaired a meeting of the Coordination Forum for Countering Violent Extremism on Thursday in Mogadishu, organized by the Topsan Center for Countering Extremism.

The meeting focused on strengthening efforts to combat extremist ideologies and accelerating community awareness programs, particularly among youth, to reduce recruitment by terrorist groups.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Somali government has made tangible progress in security and counterterrorism, emphasizing the importance of continuing to enhance awareness programs and consolidate stability.

Jameh said, “The government is committed to ensuring security and building a generation free from extremist ideology.” The event was attended by representatives of the international community and several organizations involved in combating extremism, who praised the government’s efforts in this area.
