The Minister of the Interior delivers a written message from the President of the Republic to the Algerian President.

 The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, met today, Wednesday, with the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, His Excellency Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during an official visit to Algeria at the head of a government delegation.

His Excellency the Minister delivered to the Algerian President a written message from the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, concerning the strengthening of bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the historical ties that bind Somalia and Algeria, and ways to expand cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. 

The Minister also briefed the Algerian President on the latest developments in Somalia, including the efforts of the Federal Government in the areas of national reconciliation, state institution building, administrative reform, and strengthening security and stability, as well as the ongoing military operations to liberate areas from terrorist groups.

The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Murad, Minister of State in charge of the General Inspectorate of State Services and Local Authorities; Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs; Said Saïd, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport; Amar Abba, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Diplomatic Affairs; and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Algeria, His Excellency Yusuf Ahmed Hassan.

At the end of the meeting, the Somali Interior Minister expressed his thanks to the Algerian President for the warm welcome and hospitality, stressing Somalia’s keenness to strengthen fraternal cooperation relations between the two countries.
