Visitors to Ogo Beach, Fukui Prefecture, Japan, recently found a strange giant squid.
The length of the squid that washed up on Ogo Beach is 10 feet, according to the Japanese newspaper, Mainichi, quoting the Fukui municipality.
The newspaper quoted an official who followed the case as saying that it is unusual for a giant squid to drift ashore and survive.
The strange-shaped giant squid was transferred to the Echizen Matsushima Marine Life Center, where it will be taken care of, and examinations will be conducted to reveal the cause of its strange shape, according to the British newspaper, "Daily Star".
The squid that was found has a strangely shaped mouth where the arms meet, which the giant creature uses to swallow fish and smaller squid species.
