Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said striker Erling Haaland will miss Wednesday's match against Sevilla, as a precaution, after he was ruled out of Saturday's 1-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League due to an injury.
Haaland, who scored 22 goals in all competitions this season, was replaced in the second half during City's 0-0 draw with his former team, Borussia Dortmund, on Tuesday in the Champions League, "Champions League", after suffering a bruise. Guardiola confirmed that he would not risk his Norwegian goal when hosting Seville in the Champions League, after he had already secured qualification for the knockout stages.
He told the BBC: "Haaland has a ligament problem, he is feeling better and will have another week off." He added: "He will not play against Sevilla because we have already qualified. We hope to catch him against Fulham on Saturday. He can help us. If not, he may play against Chelsea in the League Cup on the ninth of November."
