Club World Cup: Bayern Munich Advances to the Round of 16
Germany's Bayern Munich secured the second spot in the Club World Cup round of 16 after defeating Argentina's Boca Juniors 2-1 in Miami on Friday in Group C.
Bayern's goals were scored by England's Harry Kane (18) and France's Mickaƫl Oliseh (84), while Boca's Uruguayan Miguel Merentiel (66) scored.
Bayern now have six points at the top of the group, ahead of Tuesday's match against Portugal's Benfica (4 points). Boca's points remain at one, and New Zealand's Auckland City were eliminated with zero points.
Benfica had earlier defeated Auckland City 6-0.
Bayern Munich is now the second team to qualify for the round of 16, after Brazil's Flamengo, who defeated England's Chelsea 3-1 in Group D.
