Apple announced today, Monday, that it has updated its lineup of Mac computers and laptops with proprietary CPU chips. According to Reuters, Apple unveiled a 15-inch MacBook Air powered by the company's M2 processor chip.
The price of the new laptop with six speakers starts at $ 1,299 and will be on the market next week. As for the 13-inch MacBook Air, it costs $1,099, according to Reuters. Apple has also updated its Mac Studio PC, saying its new Ultra M2 chip can process artificial intelligence programs that rival chips don't have enough memory to handle.
Apple also introduced a new version of the "Mac Pro", its highest performing PC, which also supplied it with the "Ultra M2" chip, and its price starts at $6,999. The "Ultra M2" chip is essentially two integrated chipsets from Apple's largest "M2" chipset, a method used by Apple to enhance the performance of its own "M1" chips.
As of Monday, the Mac Pro is the last computer in Apple's lineup that still uses Intel chips. While Apple hasn't made any major announcements about generative AI products similar to ChatGBT or Google's cool search engine, it has used AI in several smaller features, such as live transcription of voice messages.
