Is Twitter disappearing? A challenge facing Musk after surprising him with "Threads"

Twitter

Many questions are raised today about the fate of Twitter, after the launch of its competing application, Threads, on the market. And with the intention of the "Meta Platforms" company to launch a micro-blogging application under the name "Threads", specialists explain to "Sky News Arabia" the nature of the competition between the two technology giants, and their expectations for the results of that confrontation.

The “Meta” announcement of the new application came days after the CEO of “Twitter”, Elon Musk, announced a temporary ceiling on the number of tweets that each user can see on the famous Blue Bird website. Twitter also announced a list of restrictions on using the app, including the need for verified accounts to use TweetDeck.

Information technology expert, Islam Ghanem, explains the threads of fierce competition between giant companies to attract users:

⦁ Meta owns the long arms of Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook, while Elon Musk owns Twitter and the Internet company Starlink.

⦁ "Meta" tried to expand and increase the number of users by broadcasting the Internet to areas "that do not have mobile and Internet services."

⦁ Then Musk launched his "Starlink" project to deliver the Internet via satellites that cover the globe.

⦁ Then came the competition between the two companies in the "short texts" applications, where "Meta" is trying to compete with "Twitter".
