 An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck at dawn today, Thursday, the Tadjoura Gulf of Djibouti in the Indian Ocean, which extends south of the Bab al-Mandab Strait (the entrance to the Red Sea), at a depth of 12 kilometers, according to data from the European Mediterranean Seismic Center.

Data published by the European Mediterranean Seismological Center on its website showed that an earthquake focus struck the Gulf of Tadjoura, 3 kilometers northeast of Djibouti in the Horn of Africa region.

The center said that the epicenter of an earthquake struck the Gulf of Tajoura in the Indian Ocean and also occurred 432 kilometers south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
