The Somali Prime Minister conducts a cabinet reshuffle and appoints new ministers
Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appointed new members of his government, including the Ministers of Interior, Security and Foreign Affairs, on Sunday. Berri appointed Ahmed Moallem Faki, who was Minister of Internal Affairs, as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.Representative Ali Youssef Ali Housh was appointed Minister of Interior and Federal Affairs, while Senator Abdullah Sheikh Ismail Fartagh took over the Ministry of Internal Security. The ministerial reshuffle also included the appointment of Abdullah Battan and Rasmi as Minister of Electricity and Water, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office.
The Prime Minister appointed MP Mohamed Adam Moallem as Minister of Post and Communications in the federal government, and Ahmed Omar Mohamed as Minister of State for Environment and Climate Change.
These amendments come a few days after the reappointment of Abdullahi Muhammad Ali “Sanbululshi” as the new director of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) during the last weekly session of the Council of Ministers in Mogadishu.
