The ambassadors of Somalia and Kazakhstan to the United Nations, speaking to the media, confirmed that cooperation covers political, economic, and social issues.

Somalia and Kazakhstan previously had no formal diplomatic relations, except for meetings between the two countries' leaders to discuss current issues. However, they are now expected to open embassies in each other's countries to further strengthen their cooperation.

It is worth noting that Kazakhstan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, and was one of the states affiliated with the Soviet Union.
