The British government is strengthening Somalia's defense capabilities with modern equipment.

Mogadishu - Somali Defense Minister Ahmed Moalim Faqi and the Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Odwa Yusuf Rage, on Thursday attended a ceremony held at the Somali Ministry of Defense to receive advanced military equipment from the United Kingdom.

The equipment provided by the United Kingdom to Somalia contributes to enhancing the country's capabilities to counter improvised explosive devices and demonstrates the strong partnership between Somalia and the Kingdom in confronting security challenges.

The Minister of Defense expressed his gratitude for the United Kingdom's support, noting that this equipment is crucial to the Somali National Army's efforts to restore peace and stability to the country. The Army Commander also emphasized the importance of this assistance in protecting military personnel and civilians from the dangers of these explosive devices.
