Two neuroscientists have filed a lawsuit against Apple in a California federal court, accusing it of using thousands of copyrighted books to train its artificial intelligence model, Apple Intelligence.
Stephen Macknik and Susana Martinez-Conde, professors at Downstate University of Health Sciences in Brooklyn, New York , said in the lawsuit Thursday that Apple used what they called illegal "shadow libraries" of pirated books to train its Apple Intelligence model.
Another group of writers filed a similar lawsuit last month against Apple, accusing it of illegally using their literary works to train artificial intelligence.
