Bayern Munich in trouble after all their goalkeepers are injured
Bayern Munich's goalkeeping crisis deepened on Sunday after the club announced that Sven Ulreich will be sidelined for the time being with a groin strain. Bayern stated that Ulreich sustained the injury during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. It is worth noting that Ulreich is the third choice in guarding Bayern's goal, and was participating for the first time since September 2024 after Manuel Neuer suffered a hamstring injury, and Jonas Orbig, the backup goalkeeper, suffered a concussion.
Sixteen-year-old Leonard Prescott was Bayern Munich's backup goalkeeper in the Leverkusen match. Reports indicate that Bayern are confident Orbić will be fit to play for Bayern next Wednesday.
Bayern Munich's next match is the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie against Atalanta next Wednesday. Bayern won the first leg 6-1 in Italy, and Orbić suffered a concussion in the closing minutes of that match.
