 His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, intends to deliver a speech to the Somali people in the coming hours, addressing the latest developments in the country and current political and security issues.

The President is expected to focus his speech on the local elections that took place peacefully this morning in parts of the South West State of Somalia, which adopted the "one person, one vote" system, as well as the situation in the capital, Mogadishu.

The speech will also address the consultation platform launched by the government to broaden dialogue and understanding with political forces and figures, as part of efforts to strengthen national consensus and support the democratic process in the country.
