On Emirati initiatives that contribute to supporting the Somali people, including a grant of 20 million dirhams to combat the drought file, and facilitating entry procedures for Somali citizens to the UAE.

A few days ago, a high-ranking Somali delegation headed by Minister of Defense Abdelkader Mohamed Nour visited the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, amid a warm welcome from senior officials in the UAE Ministry of Defense and leaders of its armed forces. During that visit, a cooperation agreement in the military and security field and combating terrorism was signed with the Minister of State for Defense Affairs in the UAE government, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi.

The two sides also discussed relations of cooperation and joint coordination in the defense and military field and ways of developing them, in addition to reviewing a number of regional and international issues of common concern and exchanging views on them. This coincided with the fact that the Minister of Defense in the Somali federal government, Abdul Qadir Mohamed Nour, visited the Tawazun factory for the manufacture of weapons, ammunition and military vehicles in the United Arab Emirates, in an atmosphere of cordiality, welcome and good hospitality, which reflects the good atmosphere and the high level of understanding between the two countries. The factory that played a major role in the military strength and weapons used by the UAE forces.

The Somali minister also briefed Emirati officials during his visit on the outcome and developments of the ongoing operations against the Al-Shabaab movement in his country, and the areas that have returned to government control, referring to the efforts it is making to enhance the capacity-building of the Somali armed forces.

There is no doubt that this agreement, which was signed recently, would lead to an increase in the defense capacity of Somalia, and contribute significantly to combating terrorism in the country, which was confirmed by official statements by the Somali Minister of Defense. This agreement was the culmination of a good process of fruitful and positive cooperation between two brotherly Arab countries that share a historical relationship in order to achieve the common interests of their peoples. It is not the only station for cooperation between the two countries, as their joint journey through many years of cooperation brings together many important stations that highlight the most important areas of cooperation, as well as the vital role played by the United Arab Emirates in the region and its white hands on many occasions, as well as its cooperation with the Somalis in times of crisis.
