The Emirates Down Syndrome Association organized a festive awareness festival in the "Dubai Mall" on the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, under the slogan "Together, not for us". The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Moza Al-Akraf Al-Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Community Development, and a large number of community figures and officials of the Emirates Down Syndrome Society and those concerned.
Moza Al-Akraf expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Emirates Down Syndrome Society to rehabilitate, empower and integrate people with Down syndrome, provide them with a better life, work to highlight their capabilities, skills and potential, and actively participate in social, sports, cultural and educational activities.
For her part, Dr. Manal Jaarour, Chairperson of the Emirates Down Syndrome Society, said that the slogan of the celebration adopted by the global organization for this year, “Together, not for us,” confirms that the leadership of the UAE is with people of determination in word and deed through its adoption of legislation, policies and creative initiatives that open to people of determination. prospects, improve their quality of life, contribute to their integration into society, highlight their achievements, and provide full support to their families.
