The Somali president arrives in Asmara

 Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud arrived yesterday evening, Sunday, in Asmara, on his fourth official visit since last year.

The Somali President and his accompanying delegation received a warm welcome from President Isaias Afwerki and other senior officials upon their arrival at Asmara International Airport.

A Somali presidency statement said that the leaders of Somalia and Eritrea will discuss strengthening bilateral relations in addition to regional developments and issues of common interest.

It is worth noting that Eritrea trained thousands of Somali forces who joined the ongoing military operations in different regions of the country.
