A high-level ministerial meeting was held in Mogadishu on Tuesday, opened by the Ministry of Women and Human Rights and representatives of the African Union for Children in Somalia to discuss the welfare and rights of children.
The meeting, which was co-hosted by the Federal Government of Somalia, the African Union, German Humanitarian Aid and Save the Children, focused on the ratification of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
The meeting was attended by officials from several ministries in the Somali federal government, led by the Ministry of Women and Human Rights, the African Union representative for children’s affairs in Somalia, and other officials.
