On Tuesday, the National Intelligence and Security Service announced the arrest of Sufyan Sheikh Ahmed, who was accused of spreading extremism and who was residing in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The Somali government accused the man, also known as “Takii,” of promoting extremist ideas that undermine peace and stability, and also accused him of providing support to the Al-Shabaab movement.

The intelligence agency did not provide further details about the circumstances of the arrest of Takii, who was in Nairobi, but it explained that an investigation had begun with him to examine his relations with terrorists.

Takei's arrest came days after the intelligence agency announced the arrest of Zakaria Kamal, who is accused of smuggling weapons to Al-Shabaab, and the agency promised to continue targeting those collaborating with the movement inside and outside the country.
