President Hassan Sheikh meets with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States

 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, met with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit during his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. President Hassan Sheikh thanked the Arab League countries for opposing Ethiopia's bad intentions and supporting Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The President of Somalia discussed with the Secretary-General the security and strategy of the Bab al-Mandab corridor in the Red Sea, the situation in the Horn of Africa, and the consequences that could arise from Ethiopia’s dangerous move to undermine Somalia’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

President Mahmoud shared with the leadership of the Arab League the unified position of the Somali people and the Somali government against the desire of the government of the Ethiopian Prime Minister to violate the sovereignty of Somalia on land and at sea.

Arab League Secretary Aboul Gheit expressed the efforts and support of the Arab League to strengthen the unity and independence of Somalia, and said that violating the Republic of Somalia, which is the basis of stability in the region, is unacceptable.
