The Somali Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation meets with the CEO of the Saudi Development Fund
The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation in the Federal Government of Somalia, Ferdousa Othman, and her accompanying delegation met with the CEO of the Saudi Development Fund, Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshid, on Monday, in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.The meeting between the Minister and the CEO of the Saudi Development Fund focused on developing bilateral cooperation, the development projects implemented by the Fund in developing countries, and the impact of these projects on the growth and prosperity of societies. The Minister explained the extent of Somalia's readiness for direct investment, especially in developing airports, roads and other priority projects for the country.
It is noteworthy that the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays great attention to supporting development sectors, as the Saudi Fund for Development has provided the Federal Republic of Somalia with soft development loans since 1977 to finance 4 development projects and programs worth more than $134 million, in order to support the education, agriculture and industry sectors.
