A small asteroid collides with the Earth's atmosphere over the Philippines

The US space agency NASA said that a small asteroid collided with Earth's atmosphere without causing any harm. Astronomers spotted the asteroid, which is about one meter wide, in Arizona on Wednesday, and said it crashed off the coast of the Philippines hours after its discovery.

The asteroid (space rock), which was named RW 12024, is the ninth to be detected before its crash. Many followers captured the moment the asteroid collided with the atmosphere, burned up, and fell somewhere off the coast of the Philippines, and published those shots on the X platform and social media platforms.

Asteroids of this size are heading towards Earth approximately every two weeks without posing any danger. The asteroid was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey, operated by the University of Arizona and funded by NASA.
