Somalia joins UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Faqi, officially signed Somalia’s accession to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocol. The Somali government noted that this historic step reinforces Somalia’s commitment to combating transnational organized crime and strengthening international cooperation to enhance global security.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Moalim, and the Chief Justice of Somalia, His Excellency Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed, along with other senior government officials.

This achievement represents an important step in Somalia’s efforts to align with international standards and contribute to global peace and stability, and the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it remains committed to enhancing Somalia’s role in international governance and fostering strong partnerships with the global community.
