The Somali government accuses some foreign ambassadors of violating the country's sovereignty

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Somali government, Mr. Ahmed Moalim Faki, accused some foreign ambassadors accredited to the Federal Republic of Somalia of violating the country’s sovereignty and unity and pledged to hold them accountable.

Faki explained that some of the ambassadors who participated in the presidential and party elections in Somaliland concealed that they represented their country in Somalia, and limited themselves to mentioning their names and the country from which they hailed, while others treated Somaliland as if it were an independent country.

The minister considered the ambassadors' actions unacceptable, and stated that his ministry summoned the Danish ambassador to Somalia, who he said described the separatist region as a state.

This comes at a time when some ambassadors accredited to the Federal Republic of Somalia and international delegations participated as observers in the elections that Somaliland witnessed last Wednesday.
