The Prime Minister of Somalia receives a delegation from the European Union in Mogadishu

 The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, received a delegation headed by the Deputy Director-General of the European Union responsible for the African continent, Mr. Matthew Prince, and discussed with him issues related to strengthening cooperation and relations between the European Union and Somalia.

The meeting focused on European Union support in the areas of restructuring security in Somalia after the withdrawal of the African Union Transitional Mission in Somalia (ATMS) and how to cooperate with countries that support Somalia in terms of training and equipment.

Prime Minister Hamzah briefed the European Union delegation on the political, economic and security developments in the country and the war against the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. Mr. Matthew praised the achievements of the Somali government and people in all fields, noting that the European Union will continue to support stability and security operations in Somalia.
