Arnold "lost his memory" because of Real Madrid

The British newspaper "Daily Telegraph" revealed that Alexander Arnold, the right-back of Liverpool, told his friends that he was subjected to a state of confusion and did not remember anything from his team's match against Manchester United after Real Madrid contacted him.

The 26-year-old English international announced that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season.

Speculation about the right-back's future has been abundant throughout the season, given that his contract is set to expire at the end of June, and Arnold is expected to sign a six-year contract with Real Madrid.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the offer made by Real Madrid affected the mental state of the Liverpool player and put him in a state of confusion, and the right-back also told his friends that he did not remember anything about his performance against Manchester United at that time.

Arnold had caused a mistake that led to a goal for Manchester United in the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

After that confrontation, Richard Hughes, Liverpool's sporting director, was said to have phoned Arnold to check on him.

Arnold will end his two-decade association with the club after deciding to leave his childhood club, after winning the English Premier League twice with the team, in addition to the FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, European Super Cup and Champions League.
