The Somali government lifts the flight ban on the town of Dolo in Gedo region
The Somali federal government has lifted the long-imposed air embargo on the town of Dolo in Gedo District, Jubbaland State, paving the way for the resumption of flights to this border town.
A statement issued by the office of the Minister of Internal Security, Abdullah Sheikh Ismail Fartag, stated that the decision aims to meet the needs of the region’s residents, especially with the Hajj season approaching, to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and citizens.
This decision comes at a time when the Somali government is seeking to form a parallel administration in Jubbaland State, in an indication of the escalation of the political dispute between the two sides.
