Somali Prime Minister meets Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh
Today, the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, held an important meeting with the President of the Republic of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, in Djibouti, the capital.
The high-level discussions centered on strengthening the strong bilateral relations between Somalia and Djibouti, including security, political and economic cooperation, in addition to broader regional issues, and the two sides stressed the need to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between their peoples.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Berri used this occasion to highlight the significant achievements made by his government in vital sectors, including development, improved security situation, economic progress, political stability, and ongoing nation-building initiatives, stressing that these successes are a direct result of effective cooperation between various government agencies.
The Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the government and people of Djibouti for their continued and fraternal support for Somalia, stressing the vital importance of strategic cooperation between the two countries, and particularly praising the pivotal role of President Ismail Omar Guelleh in promoting peace and harmony throughout the region, especially among Somalis wherever they live.
President Ismail Omar Guelleh, for his part, affirmed the commitment of the Djibouti government and its people to stand by and support the Somali state, pointing to Djibouti’s continuing efforts to contribute to peace, security and stability in Somalia, which reflects the permanent solidarity between the two countries.
The meeting contributed to reaffirming the solid alliance and shared vision of Somalia and Djibouti for stability and prosperity in the Horn of Africa.
