President Hassan Sheikh Oversees the Assumption of the New Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency
Mogadishu – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today, Saturday, oversaw the assumption of office of the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, Mr. Mahad Mohamed Salad, succeeding the outgoing Director, Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Ali "Sanbalooshi."
The ceremony, held at the National Intelligence and Security Agency headquarters in Mogadishu, was attended by senior government and security officials, including the Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartag; the Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein Mongaab; the Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Asad Abdullahi Osman, and other officials from the national security sector.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended Mr. Sanbalooshi for his services and contributions to national security, particularly in the fight against terrorism, and affirmed the Somali government's continued commitment to protecting the country and confronting the threats posed by extremist groups.
The President called on the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, Mr. Mahad Mohamed Salad, to build on the progress the agency has made by intensifying counterterrorism operations, enhancing interagency cooperation, and building public confidence in the agency to help defeat terrorist threats.
This transition represents a renewed affirmation of the government's resolve to strengthen national security leadership and ensure the continuity of efforts to protect Somalia's stability and the safety of its citizens.
