OpenAI Plans to Launch AI-Powered Web Browser

Following Perplexity's launch of its AI-powered Comet web browser, OpenAI, a leading AI company, plans to launch its own AI-powered web browser to compete with Google Chrome, which dominates the global browser market.

According to media reports, OpenAI, the developer of the ChatGPT AI chatbot platform, aims to launch its browser in the coming weeks.

Like Perplexity's Comet browser and The Browser Company's Dia browser, OpenAI's browser uses AI to rethink how users browse the web.

The browser is supposed to retain some user interactions on the ChatGPT platform rather than linking them to websites.

According to TechCrunch, a technology website, OpenAI's browser may integrate the company's AI agent, "Operator," which handles web browsing for the company, as a key feature of the upcoming browser.

Information reported that OpenAI has begun considering launching its own web browser to compete with Google's Chrome and Perplexity's browser. OpenAI aims to gain direct access to web browser user data and create new user experiences without relying on Google, which owns Chrome, the world's most popular web browser.
