English police announced on Monday the release of a Liverpool fan who was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Bournemouth striker Antoine Semino during the two teams' Premier League match.
Merseyside Police have said the 47-year-old Liverpool man will not be allowed to attend any football matches in Britain or come within 1.6 km of a stadium while on bail.
The fan was arrested on suspicion of a social distancing violation after Black Semino told the referee he had been racially abused by a fan during the first half of Liverpool's match against Bournemouth at Anfield last Friday.
The match was stopped for a few minutes while the fan was removed from the stands.
Merseyside Police added that the investigation is ongoing and that they are continuing to work closely with Liverpool FC.
On Saturday, Semenyo, 25, thanked his teammates, Liverpool players, and everyone involved in football after receiving numerous messages of support following the racist abuse.
Semino completed the match, scoring two goals after the incident, but Liverpool won the match 4-2.
