Real Madrid continued their strong start to the Spanish league season with a 3-0 win over newly promoted Real Oviedo, thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappé and a late goal from Vinicius Junior on Sunday evening.

Mbappé opened the scoring in the 37th minute, connecting with a pass from Arda Güler after a successful tackle from Aurelien Tchouameni. He then added his second goal in the 83rd minute following a counterattack led by Vinicius.

Goalkeeper Aaron Escandale denied the French star a hat-trick after saving a powerful shot from outside the area.

Oviedo showed great resilience and came close to equalizing when Kwasi Sebo's shot hit the post, but Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois's brilliance prevented the home side from scoring, saving a superb shot from Haitham Hassan.

In stoppage time, Vinicius sealed the result with a calm shot from inside the penalty area, confirming Real Madrid's superiority in the first meeting between the two teams since November 2002.
