Erling Haaland scored another hat-trick to lead Norway to a 5-0 win over Israel, taking the Manchester City striker's tally to 21 goals in 12 appearances for club and country - and it was only October before the match, which was marred by pro-Palestine protests.

His second goal of the match, a header from Antonio Nusa's cross, took his tally to 50 goals for Norway in just 46 appearances.

Haaland could have scored more had he converted a penalty in the first half, although he converted on two occasions.

Haaland is on his way to breaking records.

After Haaland scored the winning goal for Manchester City against Brentford in the Premier League, Jamie Carragher described him as the "greatest goalscorer" in English football after the match.

The player himself said he was in his best form. He told Sky Sports: "I've never felt better than I do right now."

Is Haaland's performance improving further? His numbers prove it.

He's already made history in the Champions League . With his goal in his 49th Champions League match against Napoli , Haaland became the fastest player to reach 50 goals in the competition, breaking the record previously held by Ruud van Nistelrooy , who needed 62 games, followed by Lionel Messi with 66.

For further context, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Champions League's top scorer with 140 goals, needed 91 games to reach 50 goals.

Haaland, of course, has been a prolific goalscorer in the Premier League . His goal against Brentford took him to 94 goals in 104 games, giving him an unprecedented goalscoring rate that puts him close to becoming the fastest player in the competition's history to reach the 100-goal club, ahead of Alan Shearer, who needed 125 games.

Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero , Thierry Henry and Mohamed Salah are second behind Shearer in reaching this milestone.

Haaland's incredible scoring rate makes him exceptional, and with nine years left on his exceptional contract he signed in January, and having turned 25 in July, he is on track to break almost every Premier League scoring record .

If he continues at this rate of scoring, and taking into account his average minutes played, Haaland is expected to break Shearer's record of 260 Premier League goals by September 2030.

If he continues at the Etihad Stadium for the full term of his contract, until 2034, the same projections indicate he will reach an astonishing total of 389 Premier League goals.
