Last night, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre participated in an awards ceremony honoring the winners of the “Da’i 2016” program, which aims to encourage young people to spread religion and goodness within their communities. At the outset, Prime Minister Barre congratulated all participants in the program, themed “Somalia Tells Its Story,” praising their efforts in raising community awareness and promoting virtuous conduct.

The Prime Minister noted that everyone can obey God through sincere work, leading to success in this life and reward in the hereafter. He emphasized that businesspeople, journalists, politicians, and scholars can all play a vital role in building a righteous society. Prime Minister Barre also addressed the existing challenges facing society, such as tribalism, corruption, terrorism, foreign interference, and the decline of good morals, which pose a threat to the unity and existence of the Somali people.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of using technology and social media to spread goodness, raise community awareness, promote positive morals, and prevent actions that undermine peace and development. In closing, he affirmed that there would be no acts of targeting or reprisal in Baidoa now that government forces have secured the city.
