The President of the Republic inaugurates the road linking the Dabka and Souk Bakara intersections
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud inaugurated the road linking the Dabka and Bakara Market intersections in Mogadishu on Saturday morning. In his address, the President affirmed the government's commitment to continuing the country's reconstruction, particularly the development of essential services such as roads. He also commended the efforts of the Banadir Regional Administration in restoring the capital's aesthetic appeal.The President stated, "We are patiently pursuing change aimed at the country's progress, and it is crucial that we move beyond the past thirty years of hardship." He added, "Our objective is to regulate politics and return power to the people. It is unacceptable for one person or a few individuals to make decisions regarding the fate of millions of Somalis. Direct elections will be held, so everyone should prepare."
In closing, the President urged Somali traders to focus on agriculture and industry to reduce reliance on imported goods. The Governor of Banadir and the Mayor of Mogadishu, for their part, indicated that the regional administration would continue to strengthen efforts to develop the capital's economic infrastructure.
