King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and Al-Mahasin Foundation launch a project to distribute Zakat al-Fitr in Somalia
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in cooperation with Al-Mahasin Foundation for Development and Education, launched a project to secure and distribute Zakat al-Fitr in the Federal Republic of Somalia for the year 1447 AH - 2026 AD. This is part of the humanitarian and relief programs implemented by the center to support the most needy groups around the world. The project aims to distribute 10,000 bags of rice, weighing 20 kg each, to poor and displaced families in displacement camps, benefiting approximately 80,000 people from the most vulnerable groups, especially displaced families, orphans, widows, and those with limited income in the Banadir region and the South West State of Somalia. This project is being implemented amidst the humanitarian challenges faced by many Somali families due to drought, displacement, and deteriorating food security. It aims to provide essential food supplies to families in need and bring them joy during the blessed Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The Al-Mahasin Foundation for Development and Education affirmed its pride in its humanitarian partnership with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, noting that the project will be implemented according to the highest standards of transparency and organization, in coordination with local authorities and community committees, to ensure that aid reaches those who are entitled to it within the prescribed time for Zakat al-Fitr.
This project is an extension of the humanitarian efforts made by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in Somalia, which aim to alleviate the suffering of those in need and promote the values of human solidarity and mutual support with affected communities.
