Somalia's representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly take the constitutional oath.
In Arusha, Tanzania, today, Somalia's representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly were sworn in, having fulfilled the necessary requirements. The Somali Ambassador to Tanzania and the East African Community, Elias Ali Hassan, stated that this achievement is a significant political step for the Federal Government of Somalia and its people, as they now have representatives in the East African Legislative Assembly.Since joining the East African Community, the Federal Government of Somalia has fulfilled its membership requirements and actively participates in discussions on various issues affecting the organization.
Somalia’s representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly were elected through a competitive process, culminating in the swearing-in of the successful candidates, who will now assume their duties in this legislative body.
