The President of the Republic participates in the 25th Ordinary Session of the Summit of Heads of State of the East African Community

 President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud participated in the 25th Ordinary Session of the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State Summit in Arusha, Tanzania, where leaders of member states discussed ways to strengthen regional cooperation and accelerate economic integration in the region.

During his address to the summit, the President highlighted Somalia's tangible achievements in security, democracy, good governance, and the completion of the national constitution, emphasizing Somalia's commitment to enhancing regional cooperation and accelerating economic integration among East African nations.

During the summit, Judge Abdulwahid Warsame Abdullahi was sworn in at the meeting podium, having been appointed to the panel of judges of the East African Community Court of Justice, where he will represent Somalia in the organization's judicial body.

This year's East African Community summit focused on strengthening regional integration and facilitating cross-border trade. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni assumed the rotating chairmanship of the organization, succeeding Kenyan President William Samwe-Ruto.
