The distribution of Zakat al-Fitr in Somalia has been completed and has reached beneficiaries in Mogadishu and its surroundings before Eid.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in cooperation with Al-Mahasin Foundation, announced the completion of its project to secure and distribute Zakat al-Fitr (charity given at the end of Ramadan) in the Federal Republic of Somalia for the year 1447 AH (2026 CE), following several days of intensive fieldwork.

The project was implemented in several areas of the Banadir region and the South West State of Somalia, delivering aid to thousands of needy families and displaced persons in various locations, including camps for internally displaced persons, water well areas, and the Lafole and Afgoye districts, which are experiencing dire humanitarian conditions and a growing need for assistance.

The distribution also included orphanages in Mogadishu, as well as patients with special needs at Martini Hospital, as part of an effort to deliver support to the most vulnerable groups before Eid al-Fitr. This project comes amidst ongoing drought and displacement in the country, which has led to deteriorating living conditions and a growing need for basic food aid, especially with the approach of Eid al-Fitr.

For its part, Al-Mahasin Foundation affirmed that the project was implemented according to the highest standards of transparency and organization, in coordination with local authorities and community committees, to ensure that Zakat al-Fitr reached its rightful recipients within the prescribed time.

This project embodies an extension of the humanitarian efforts provided by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in Somalia, with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the most needy groups, and promoting the values of social solidarity and compassion among members of society.
